Vacancy: Social Media Director

Sitting within the digital department, as Social Media Director, you are one of the most senior members of the Social Media team and are responsible for leading the output across a number of client accounts with your focus being auditing and then scoping, authoring, and delivering social media strategies that achieve the client’s objective(s). You will have line management responsibility and part of this role will be to ensure that ownership flows down to junior members who will confidently support you to deliver high quality work that works.

Candidates will:

  • Author multi-channel social media focused digital audits for existing and prospective clients
  • Author multi-channel organic and paid social media strategies that achieve the client’s objective(s) and cost these appropriately
  • have commercial accountability both in terms of resource to billing ratio and allocation of studio resource internally, but also externally to the client in terms of the direct impact the channel has on a client’s costs and profitability.
  • Proactively identify areas to add value to existing clients or prospective clients and be able to communicate this appropriately (directly or via Client Services)
  • Own the social media output for a number of clients and be responsible for ensuring that public facing content is on brand, in the correct tone and error-free
  • Manage the creative requirements of the department, whether via briefing directly or usuring team members briefs are effective
  • Effectivity manage and develop junior members of the social media team, nurture, guide and co-ordinate so that they can be trusted to deliver
  • A confident decision maker, you should be able to talk with authority and enthusiasm on social media and have a strong awareness of the part the channel plays in the broader digital mix
  • With strong communication skills, you should be able to manage clients effectively
  • Advanced understanding of the technical aspects of social media strategies and how these fit into different business models. Eg. Tracking requirements in e-commerce v lead generation, product feed use etc.
  • A competent presenter, with the ability to deliver a presentation either internally or to the client with confidence and enthusiasm
  • Have your finger on the pulse of the social media industry, know about new product updates, the latest trends and technological advances
  • Look to champion Propaganda’s results both internally and externally
  • As social media “guru” you should be able to excite and engage the client to trust in the recommended strategy
  • The energy to maximise the potential of the client’s activity, be always self-examining and asking, “could this activity deliver more?”
  • Not only be open to challenge but seek it out, look to collaborate and engage the wider account team
  • Be able to get in the client’s headspace and gain a solid reading to enable you to modify your approach to meet the client’s expectation
  • Be able to contribute to industry blogs and events within the sector
