This week we helped to facilitate a visit from the Secretary of State for Transport to client logistics facilities in the North East. Clipper and PD Ports, welcomed Patrick McLoughlin to their respective Wynyad Park and Teesport sites in the North East, as part of his two day tour of the region.
During the visit, the Transport Secretary enjoyed a tour of both companies, which he labelled “impressive” and listened intently to presentations from Asda and Clipper, after a lunchtime briefing from PD Ports.
Clipper and PD Ports impressed the Transport Secretary with their portcentric logistics operations, whereby stock is sorted for onward distribution at or near it’s port of entry to the UK. The system has many environmental and commercial benefits over traditional logistics approaches, and highlights the suitability of the Northeast as a national logistics hub.
Propaganda were on hand to facilitate the visit to the Clipper site, and worked with both clients, Asda and the Department for Transport to secure good press coverage.
