Propaganda has won the online and strategic planning account for the outdoor clothing brand, Arkose, which specialises in fleeces.
Inspired by the natural qualities of a sheep’s fleece that channels water away from the body, Arkose fleeces are versatile and can be adapted to all temperatures, removing the need for additional layers of clothing. By reversing the jacket, it is suitable for warmer temperatures, with the additional help of strategically placed zips for extra cooling and can be used in all weather conditions, including snow. Made using natural sheep’s wool and coated with lanolin, the fleece combines the warmth of a traditional fleece jacket with the water resistance of a wax jacket.
The first creative work by Propaganda will go live this week with a new website www.arkose.eu. In addition, Arkose is also unveiling a new strap line, created by Propaganda– ‘Arkose. Take on the World’.
Richard Linkogel, the Arkose Chief Executive explained: “Since winning ‘Yorkshire’s Big Idea’ some two years ago, I have been focusing on developing a route to market. The growing demand for local, naturally sourced products that can be used by outdoor extremists is a great fit for my jackets and gives a good opportunity to put the Yorkshire textile industry back on the map. I knew I wanted to use regional business expertise to create a strong online brand and working with Propaganda will facilitate this and pave the way for success in the UK retail market.”
Mike Phillipson, Director, Propaganda added: “We are delighted to be working with the iconic outdoor clothing brand, Arkose – it sits in an exciting category, both strategically and creatively. The new ‘Take on the World’ line stems from a strong consumer insight - based around humans being strong, but nature being stronger and the fact that despite this, people now are reaching places the planet didn’t intend them to reach.’
