Masternaut Three X, the vehicle tracking and mobile workforce solutions company, is celebrating the success of its managing director, Martin Port, who has been named Ernst & Young's Entrepreneur of the Year in the northern region technology and communications category.
Martin will now represent the region in the national finals of the awards programme at a ceremony in September. Previous winners of the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year title include EasyJet's Sir Stelios Haji-Iannou and Dragons' Den favourite Duncan Bannatyne.
The northern region's judging panel, made up of entrepreneurs, previous winners and business leaders, were impressed at Masternaut's growth with an enviable client list including Ann Summers, Harrods and United Biscuits.
Martin Port has succeeded in taking a business with three members of staff in 2002 and building it into a the UK market leader, turning over £22 million and employing more than 200 employees.
Martin Port commented on his achievement: "It's a great honour to be given this award. As a business, Masternaut Three X has come such a long way over the last six years, and our loyal and hardworking team has been instrumental to this success. The opportunity to represent the region at a national level is very exciting and I am looking forward to the final at London's Grosvenor House."
