Refood Helping the UK drive towards greener, safer food waste recycling

We launched ReFood in the UK in 2013 and over the last decade the brand has gone from strength to strength, establishing itself as a UK market leader in the food waste recycling sector. Over the last couple of years, the sector has evolved exponentially driven by a wide range of factors; COVID, the energy crisis, inflationary pressures, increased competition and most recently food waste legislation. Additionally, ReFood as a business has evolved to become a significant player in the UK’s renewable energy infrastructure.

We conducted a Brand Health programme in 2022, which provided the insight and strategic direction; no other anaerobic digestion food waste business truly owned the narrative of food waste as a sustainable energy solution. The result, we’ve repositioned ReFood from a waste recycler to a renewable energy leader. This is a bold re-articulation of the proposition we created for ReFood in 2013 – Waste For Good. It captures the substantial value created from food waste for businesses, aligning with ESG initiatives, promoting carbon reduction and directly benefiting from the energy generated by their food waste. It’s not just recycling; it’s re-energising businesses, communities, and the nation. Helping the UK drive towards greener, safer, cheaper food waste recycling.
